The purpose of this section of the website to allow people have easy access to summary information and facts about the Greater Dublin Area (GDA). The GDA consist of the total area of the two Regions, Dublin and Mid-East. The information is drawn from publications by the Central Statistics Office and the Department of Environment, Heritage & Local Government.

Housing Growth
This shows the number of housing units (i.e. all houses, apartments and duplex type) built in each county over the previous few years. This information is from the Department of Environment, Heritage & Local Government publications - the Housing Bulletin document for each year. They source the information from ESB domestic connections.

Updated Housing Allocation for Each Council in the RPGs (April 2007)

The April Update Report has revised upwards the housing allocation for each Council, following a Departmental Circular which revised the National Spatial Strategy figures and the results of the 2006 Census. The division of the figures to County level has also been extended to 2016.  Detail on this update to Table 7.4 of the original RPGs is contained in the full report- See Report and Updates Section.
