Welcome to the Regional Planning Guidelines for the Greater Dublin Area website.
The Regional Planning Guidelines were adopted by the Dublin and Mid-East Regional Authorities on the 8th of July 2004. The Guidelines cover the Councils of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, Dublin City, Fingal and South Dublin in the Dublin Region and Kildare, Meath and Wicklow County Council areas in the Mid-East Region.
The Regional Planning Guidelines aim to give regional effect to the National Spatial Strategy and to guide the development plans for each county. A copy of the document is free to download below at the end of this page.
NEWS:
Draft of Regional Planning Guidelines for Greater Dublin Area 2010-2022 Now on Public Display.
The Draft to replace the current RPGs has been prepared and agreed for public consultation by the Members of the Dublin and the Mid-East Regional Authorities.
The Draft has two key associated documents concurrently on display and also seeking comment and submissions- the Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Draft RPGs and the Habitats Directive Assessment of the Draft RPGs.
All three documents can be downloaded below. The RPG Draft has also been broken up into chapters as the size may be too large to download for some.

Closing Date for Submissions is Friday the 26th of March, 2010 at 5pm.
Submissions can be sent by email or post to the Regional Planning Guidelines Office, 1st Floor Mainscourt, 23 Main Street, Swords, Co. Dublin and submission@rpg.ie. You need to include your name and address in all submissions and if you are representing an other person or organisation, their details also.

RETAIL STRATEGY REVIEW- Final Document Published.
The Revised Retail Strategy for the Greater Dublin Area is now finalised, following the meeting of the Joint Regional Authorities on the 17th of July 2008. A copy can be downloaded using the link below. The document is also located on the Retail page of this site, where the pdf is broken up into parts to facilitate slower download speeds.
